The Paramedic Association of Manitoba built the PAM Manitoba Medic app as a Free app. This SERVICE is provided by The Paramedic Association of Manitoba at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform Service users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of sensitive user and device data if anyone should decide to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of data in relation to this policy. The sensitive user and device data that we collect is used for analyzing the Service & improving the presentation of information for the future. We do not use or share sensitive user and device data with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at PAM Manitoba Medic unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

Our app uses the Android Advertising ID to collect generic user and device data, in the form of user behaviour analytics & mobile device information through 3rd party service development tools such as fabric.io & Google Analytics. Examples of user behaviour analytics may include but is not limited to user sessions, daily active users, new users, average time spent in-app, and most commonly-viewed protocols & pages. Examples of device data may include but is not limited to device type, operating system, and general location information. Our app collects generic user and device data for the specific purposes of analyzing the quality & user-experience of our Service, improving our Service based on real user data, reporting user behaviour & device-type statistics to healthcare & emergency healthcare organizations within & outside of the Province of Manitoba such as paramedic educators, organizations, organization members, employers & authorities in ways which are believed to support the advancement of the profession of paramedicine, and the continued use of technology products to advance the profession of paramedicine, as well as for research purposes. The data that we collect will be retained by us and used as described above.

At no point whatsoever does our Service have the ability to identify you, or any individual user personally. It is our belief that because users do not login or create accounts within the Service, no sensitive user data revealing personally-identifiable information is ever collected. All user and device data which is collected is collected, displayed, & shared, in aggregate, as overall statistics.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the application’s performance, we collect data and information through 3rd party services on your phone known as ‘Log Data.’ This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Service Providers

We may employ 3rd party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

  • To facilitate our Service;
  • To provide the Service on our behalf;
  • To perform Service-related services; or
  • To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

We want to inform users of this Service that these 3rd parties may have access to your sensitive user and device data (note: we do not collect any personally-identifiable information). Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children of any age, as we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information of any user whatsoever. In the case we discover that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be perform such necessary actions immediately.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
