Job Profile:
The Assistant Chief is a senior staff position with responsibility for leading and managing the daily operations of the assigned portfolio, developing plans, procedures, and operational standards for implementation for many aspects of the Fire Paramedic Service.
The Assistant Chief is in charge of fire and paramedic program management in areas such as fire operations, emergency medical services operations, fire and paramedic service quality, emergency communications systems, fire prevention and public education, emergency management, or other programs.
The Assistant Chief is responsible for continuous development and improvement of divisional services and is required to display judgement and initiative on administrative, operational and technical matters, problem-solving and decision-making.
A position may require specialization in fire and/or emergency medical services and/or emergency management and further specialized training (e.g. research and statistical analysis, adult education).
To provide candidates with well-rounded knowledge of management of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and enable succession planning, incumbents may rotate divisions and reporting relationships at the discretion of the Fire & Paramedic Chief.

The salary range for this position is: $6,401.50 Biweekly
